Last year, I bought these flares from Nordstrom Rack and instantly fell in love with them. When I saw the fall trends for this season, I got so excited to be able to bring them out and add some more to my closet. Don’t get me wrong, I do love my skinnies but the flares make your legs look great, shape your bottom and isn’t it nice to mix things up every so often? I am just loving these 70s looking jeans and I can’t wait to wear my white flares!

It was so nice to spend the weekend at home after being away so often lately and traveling quite a bit. Don’t get me wrong I love to travel and go out to explore, but just spending some time at home is also so relaxing. On Saturday night, I hosted a dinner party at my home. I invited some of my close girl friends over. I had so much fun drinking, catching up and eating all the delicious (if I can compliment my own cooking!) apps and food. As starters, I made a cheese plate with a baked brie, grapes and cashews. On that same platter, I paired some melon and prosciutto with toothpicks (such perfect snacks for this heat we’ve been having). Another app I made was little toast with mashed avocado with a small piece of basic topped with a tomato grape.

For dinner, Saturday morning I put in my slow cooker chicken breasts, diced chilis, some chili powder and instead of chicken brother I used water. I let the chicken cook for 8 hours which allowed the chicken to be tender and it was full of flavor. The chicken was prepared for tacos. I prepared a salad as an option instead of tortillas with pico de gallo sides, mango salsa, cheese, and guac. Lastly, for dessert on Friday night I prepared an apple pie. I love making this apple pie, it’s actually quite an easy recipe. The dough is made from scratch too!

I had such a good time at the dinner party and I am so looking forward to hosting some more this fall with all the great fall foods. It’s hard to think of fall though with the heat wave we’ve been having in LA lately, I can’t even begin to tell you guys how warm it’s been just about 90 degrees and quite humid every day. The one nice thing is that is has been staying warm at night which is unusual for LA with the cool ocean breeze we usually get.

What are you most looking forward to eat for fall?
