Hotel: Ritz Carlton Denver

So, I travel to Colorado, a lot. And, by now you may have realized when I mean a lot, I mean quite frequently. For me, it’s a mini vacation, a place I can go to escape and be with my friends. I love living in LA but sometimes I need to get away, to breathe the fresh air, to stop by local restaurants and bars that feel like home. Denver isn’t a small city, but to me, it has that small(er) city feel and I just love it. It’s the perfect getaway. I stayed at the Ritz Carlton in Downtown during my stay this time around. I was put up in a gorgeous suite with a beautiful view of the city. If you have time, stop by the spa and get a few treatments. You might as well make this weekend about yourself, so start with a facial and maybe a mani-pedi. Don’t forget to invite your two best gals over for happy hour. I enjoyed delicious bites and boozy drinks from Elway’s (restaurant in the lobby) with my girlfriends. Staying in downtown is perfect if you’re looking to be close to trendy restaurants and the nightlife.

You walk out to curbside pick up (at the airport that is) and people are driving “normal” cars.  By the way, this is my new favorite travel tote, loving the blush color for spring! I say normal because I live and work in two affluent places where people drive the fanciest of cars. I would be kidding if I said in Beverly Hills, you would think that Rolls-Royce are the Subarus of Denver. But, that’s what it seems like. So, when I walk onto the streets of Denver, people are walking, biking and driving everyday cars not $500,000 worth of a car. It’s refreshing to say the least. It keeps me grounded and down to earth. I’m grateful to have lived in such a wonderful place. Where is the place you feel most grounded?
