Aside from living in my new favorite pants, see last post here, I am starting to love the idea of a cute bomber jacket. There’s only a few sizes left in the bomber jacket so hurry quick and grab yours! I promise you’ll love it just as much as I do! You guys already know how much I love Club Monaco, so here is another version of the bomber jacket that I am wearing.
With working full-time and then heading to happy hours and events in the evening for Real Estate or for Something Dashing, I often find myself looking for outfits that I can wear to work and then wear out without having to bring an extra pair of clothes and then find myself scrambling to change in my car. Yes-I do often change in my car, probably far too often! (Not gonna lie, I found myself changing in the car once and I thought my windows were far more tinted than they were!-ugh) Anyway, in the past year I’ve grown so fond of Club Monaco and I just love how easy it is that I can pair their style in my wardrobe and make it work for both SD (Something Dashing) and Real Estate.
I was immediately drawn to these wide-leg culottes because of how comfortable they are. I kinda feel like I’m wearing a sweater but as pants. In one of my last posts, you can see me wearing this ruffled sleeves sweater, which I have decided to wear again with these pants and the bomber jacket that works from day to night. I can’t say this enough, I love this sweater so much. It’s so incredibly soft and you can really pair it with just about anything!
Hi guys! I love the fall but I also love the holidays because it means I can wear more sequins and more fur, ultimately creating the perfect holiday outfit. Part of what defines me and femininity is the ability to express myself through shiny pieces, statement fur pieces and plenty of skirts and dresses. And, this outfit does all of that.
Since it doesn’t quite feel like fall yet, I chose to pair this holiday outfit with my rockstud heels, but you could easily pair this sequin skirt and cold shoulder top with a cutest pair of OTK boots, like these or these. As much as I love the warmer temperatures, I am craving cooler weather so I can wear more sweaters, OTK boots and not gonna lie some leggings to top things off!
Here are a few things on my fall bucket list:
Go to a pumpkin patch
Pumpkin Carving Party (yes! I know I may be a little older, but there’s a fun way we can make these happen at my age)
Maybe do something Halloween related, but as I get older I am less of a Halloween fan.
Actually decorate for fall (probably more than a few pumpkins)
Go apple picking
Host a bonfire with s’mores
Bake a pie from scratch, or two, or three.
Chase some fall foliage
Hiking in a forest or state park
Host a scary movie night
Learn to cook a new hearty soup recipe, maybe a chili recipe
And, I love snail mail and snail packages so I hope to send out some goods to remind people how much I am thankful for them.
With fall not quite here yet, I tend to lean towards wearing light weight pants, as seen here, or gravitate towards wearing skirts. I usually find myself wearing knee-length skirts and skirts of darker shades. Recently, I came across this Free People skirt and immediately fell in love with the color and the fit. It’s easy to wear and style whether you choose to pair it with a pair of heels, or with a cute pair of boots (like these).
This fall, my closet seems to continue to fill with blush or wine colored clothing. This Free People skirt is among one of many fall neutrals that I have snagged from the stores so far. I chose to pair this skirt with a ruffle cashmere sweater, similar less expensive option here. I also mentioned in my last post that I have been leaning towards a lot of ruffle and bell sleeves. I think they add just the right amount of detail to an outfit without feeling too overwhelming. The ruffle can also eliminate the need for a statement necklace, or statement earrings. I find that I prefer to choose an accent piece of clothing that pair with a statement piece of jewelry. I typically lean towards more refine and delicate jewelry (if you’ve noticed from the simple pieces in most of my posts).

It’s not often that I find a pair of pants, other than jeans, that I really love and fit just right. Because of that, I’ve always gravitated towards dresses and skirts. Recently, I’ve looking a lot into finding pants that would transition well from work to evening and discovered my love for these wide leg/culotte style pant. It’s a style that I have found both flattering and comfortable and easy to style with. This patterned ruffled pant have easily become one of my favorites and so have these black ruffled detailed pants.
As you’ve seen from my previous posts, I’ve been gravitating more and more towards ruffled detailed clothing. So far, I haven’t regretted any of my ruffled blouse or pairs of pants. While this Milly cold shoulder top creates a more evening vibe, it transitions well when work with a black skirt or these pants. I also love this short sleeve blouse with the ruffled hem detail and this ruffled flounced sweater (currently on sale with code EOTS17) that can also be chic when worn with this pant or a pair of dark denim.
The current It-dress at the moment? The wrap dress. They were a big hit this summer and they continue to be a big hit as we enter into fall, and I’m totally ok with it! I So many brands have included them in their collections, many included them in their spring collections and now you can see so many in fall collections. Wrap dresses are staples that are practical, sensual and elegant all at the same time. They are suitable for any occasion: from a party, to a dinner and to wearing them to your nearest pumpkin patch.
I’ve seen short ones, long ones, and even ruffled ones! If you don’t have a wrap dress in your closet, you need one!
This floral jumpsuit is one of the prettier more flattering jumpsuits that I currently have in my closet. Full disclaimer: I don’t own many jumpsuits and rompers because I am often reminded by males around me that they aren’t flattering or liked! I was really shocked to hear that. With engagements and holiday parties on the horizon, I thought this floral jumpsuit would be the perfect addition to my closet. Not only is the floral print subtle yet somewhat dramatic, the material and versatility of the jumpsuit makes it perfect to wear to everything from a happy hour to an engagement dinner.
I don’t often direct my attention to jumpsuits because of my wider hips, but I thought the style was flattering and i loved that it has pockets. I am wearing a small but if you want a little bit more wiggle room, I recommend sizing up. I feel like with the print of this jumpsuit, it is unlikely to go out of style anytime soon. With the weather still warm in LA, I am pairing this jumpsuit with all things summer but I am looking forward to pairing it with some darker maroons in the fall/winter seasons.
I decided to create Something Dashing as a place to document the things that I love, and as a way to showcase current trends in a fresh and inspiring way. By living in several different cities and my love for travel, I tend to add a dose of global influence to my wardrobe.
