Golden Hour

Today, I am sharing a few tips on how you can gain confidence in your life:

  1. Define what you want and who you want to be.
  2. Set goals to measure progress.
  3. Acknowledge your shortcomings but don’t allow yourself to dwell on them (or bring you down).
  4. Reward yourself responsibly when you hit your goals.
  5. Repeat positive behavior.

Maxi Dress

Hi friends! So first off, I have been trying to share on my stories my journey leading up to my first 5K race as best as I can. This past Saturday, I ran my first 5K which honestly felt like a marathon to me. My whole life I didn’t love running at all. In high school, I chose to be on the swim team so I wouldn’t have to run in PE, not a joke. But, it was my intention to set a goal and become confident in being able to get there. In yoga, you are often asked “what is your intention” and as of late mine has been “follow through, don’t quit”. More so than not, we set goals for ourselves and we don’t always follow through or we often say “I am going to do….” instead of “I will have this done”, do you notice yourself saying this at all?

With that, I decided I would sign up for a 5K and train as much as possible and try to enjoy running. The result of all of this is if you put your mind towards something, you can do it. It’s more about mental power than the physical power. You must be confident that you can succeed. Although, I felt disappointed in how my legs were cramping during my run, I have to look at it as I finished and I didn’t quit. I finished as 6th in my category of 16. So, I suppose for the first time that wasn’t all that bad but we are our own worst critiques. Instead of dwelling, I immediately signed up for my next race during breast cancer awareness month. If you are in LA and want to run or walk a 5K, you can join my team here, name of the team is “Save the Tatas.”

Bathing Suit | Poncho |

With the Nordstrom sale ending in a few days, I am sharing the one piece you must have in your closet. I remember a couple years ago, the one piece was nowhere to be found on social media and in stores, but now you just can’t get enough of them. It seems that girl everywhere are rocking the one piece bathing suits to bodysuits to even wearing bathing suits as body suits (guilty!).  The one piece is so effortless. There is no frantic rummaging through your drawers to find matching top and bottoms, or tops that would go with a different bottom. I love how versatile it can be, where you can wear it from beachwear to street wear for a simple pair of shorts.

Other than the fact that there are just SO many cute one pieces out there this summer, sometimes a one piece is preferred when you just know you’re going to want to eat that burger for lunch, or later have a couple beers. While you should always love your body, we know that doesn’t always come easy. The one piece gives you the flexibility and freedom to eat your saucy burger and truffle Parmesan fries without having to worry about the bloat.

I am sharing some of my favorite one piece bathing suits linked below. I am wearing a small in this one, you could size up if you have bigger boobs like I do.

If you didn’t get a chance to enter for this giveaway on Tuesday, don’t forget to do so today!!

Your New Favorite Striped Linen Shorts

Your New Favorite Striped Linen Shorts

| Shorts | Blouse |

Finding the perfect pair of linen shorts has proven to be quite the task. You don’t want to look like an older woman nor do you want it to accentuate areas you may be less proud of.

I recently have become a huge fan of Club Monaco, and they have so many must-haves as far as the linen shorts go. This pair might be your new favorite striped linen shorts but i also love this pink ruffled detail short. Not only is the waist a cinched-ruffled look but I just love the cute bow that ties at the front.

I recently mentioned that ruffles were a big trend this season, and you will see more of it as we transition from summer to fall. See my previous post featuring this pink ruffled dress. I chose to pair these striped linen shorts with a ruffled one shoulder blouse. Some may think that there is “too much” going on but I beg to differ.

No, this post is not sponsored. I genuinely love Club Monaco clothing, and i love them more when they have sales! (I mean, who doesn’t love a good sale?)

To complete the outfit, I chose to add this Kate Spade straw bag. Unfortunately, this bag is now sold out but I found this straw bag that I love and this one if you’re looking to complete your straw bag wardrobe. Besides, it’s the perfect bag to add to your new favorite striped linen shorts! Read below for a fun giveaway! It’s the perfect way to end the amazing Nordstrom sale!

Floral Skort Dress

Floral Skort Dress

Dress

I spent the weekend up in Carmel with my roommate (@TravelExcuse) and Mia (@thehuskymia) for a quick weekend getaway. It was definitely a quick one and we would have benefited from an extra day there. We drove up Friday night afternoon and made it just before midnight. We spent the day enjoying all that Carmel had to offer on Saturday, including the lavender festival which was the main reason why we chose to head to Carmel this weekend. I’ll share more of my trip to Carmel later this week with details on hotels, restaurants to try and things to do.

I recently posted a photo of this floral skort dress on my social media and it got so much attention for engagement shoots and wedding guests that I wanted to share it with all. It’s the perfect dress to wear to one of these occasions or simply out on the weekend and it comes at the perfect price tag. Luckily, I haven’t had to spend too much money on friends getting engaged and further married (quite yet) but I’ve heard the common complaint of having to buy dresses for different occasions, overall spending a lot of money on dresses. I’ve linked some of my favorite floral skort dresses as well as floral dresses that won’t break the bank.

15 summer rompers under $100

15 summer rompers under $100

I’ve been looking for the perfect little romper to be able to wear out for a beach day, a warm Sunday, and something I can class up a little bit. I’ve been on a blue color kick lately and when I saw this romper with the lace detail, I just knew I had to have it. Lucky enough, this little romper is now on sale for under $100 and the perfect piece to snag for your closet!

Romper

In light of this blue lace romper being on sale for under $100, I wanted to share my top 15 summer rompers under $100. I came across some amazing picks and had to share this with you all.

To stay on the same color palette, I came across this fitted lace romper ($93) with cut outs that add beautiful textures and a plunging neckline make for a casual or classier look. I also love this lacy and striped romper ($89) which flatters a simple silhouette. If you’re trying to go more neutral and white, this eyelet embroidery bare-shoulder romper ($75) blouson bodice adds a whimsical style of a playful day-to-night romper with a scalloped hem. This cute little romper is currently sitting in my cart among other items that are from the Nordstrom Sale.

I also love this drape front romper ($70) in white, perfect for a beach cover-up or a chill Sunday. I’d probably casually wear this around my house too! If you’re looking to dress up the white romper, this linen romper ($72) with a plunging neckline and a wrap bodice with tie detail would be perfect for that kind of outing.

If you’re going for a bold look, this corded texture adds to the flattering effect of medallion lace on this high-neck, ribbon-waist romper ($90). It’s a sophisticated way to play up the legs!

An alternative the red bold look is taking on the yellow-mustard cold in this frill bottom detail lace romper ($92).

Headed to the desert or to the beach? You need this palm print romper ($99)perfect for a beach day, cover-up or even to dinner.

Looking to tone this down and prefer your neutrals, look no further than this coral sleeveless romper ($52), I also love this sleeveless tie-detail romper in taupe ($89) or this printed short-sleeve romper ($70).

I don’t typically like the tie-detail at the neck, but I saw this romper ($99) and thought how feminine and classic it was. The lace detail calls for the perfect touch of femininity while the lack adds that touch of classy. Pair it with a simple pair of black heels!

My last three of my 15 romper under $100 are print and/or floral patterns. I loved the floral pattern of this dress ($88) and the flounce bodice, I also loved how the straps felt more like a halter. If you like the patterns but looking for something basic, ideal for the beach then this light purple romper ($88) is for you.

The last number on my list is a striped sleeveless romper in indigo ($88). The ruffle detail on the neckline and detail on the trim of the romper adds for the perfect tough of elegance. I would pair this dress with some sandals and a straw bag.

the perfect white blouse

the perfect white blouse

Hi friends! I’m sorry for the lack of my posts this last week. I was out sick and really sick this time around. I finally gave in and let my body take the rest that it really needed to get better. Hence, I was out all last week drinking hot teas, soups and watching lots of TV! I feel like I’m behind the ball a bit, but I finally watched Breaking Bad and getting close to finishing all five seasons!

I’ve been talking about finding the perfect white blouse for some time now and I finally found a favorite that I can wear casually or dress up to dinner. I love the simplicity in the detail of this blouse, the softness and just how flexible it is to wear. For me, that’s all I need in a blouse, or a piece of clothing.

Blouse | Denim (similar on sale here)| Heels (sold out similar here and dupe here)

I chose to pair this feminine but simple blouse with a pair of black pants and some studded heels. In addition to looking for the perfect white blouse, I was on the longest hunt of looking for the perfect black pair of pants. I have a pair that I have been wearing for years but knew that it was time for another pair but couldn’t find the “right” pair. I finally came across this Frame denim pair and absolutely love them! They are soft, give a little and I love the detail at the bottom. (*sizing tip: I sized down to a 25). I’ve linked several other options that are less expensive or on sale, like these and these. Another great way to style this blouse is to pair it with some light color denim. These would look perfect with this white blouse or these. I was lucky enough to score these Louboutin heels when they were on sale on gilt.com but I found the perfect dupe at a far lesser price here.
