Every year we go to the Bahamas as a family for Thanksgiving and sometimes we go more than just once a year. I love being able to go there during the summer. Although, Thanksgiving is a wonderful time of the year and everyone is spending time with their families; summer always brings the best in people. We stay in the Atlantis Resort Marina and because of that we like to travel to other islands, this time being Harbour Island in the Bahamas. I can’t even begin to describe the clarity of the water, the pinkness of the sand and the bliss of this island. Leave your heels at home, leave your makeup on the bathroom counter and come as you are.

Sip Sip Restaurant is an incredible restaurant on Harbour Island in the Bahamas. It is quite expensive but it does have excellent food. Some of my favorites are the lobster quesadilla, lamb burger, artichoke hummus and definitely give the margaritas a try!

Bruges

Bruges

During my travel in Europe, we decided to take a day trip to Bruges-which is about an hour and a half from Brussels. Bruges is a beautiful city distinguished by its canals, cobbled streets, and medieval buildings. The first thing we did when we got into the village was go straight to the little french fry stand and got a packet of french fries with mayo (yes, mayo!). The center of town offers horse carriage rides, 17th century houses converted in houses and cafes as well as towers with panoramic views. There is so much to see and explore. Being a city girl, I absolutely love the small town feel with the cobble stones, cute cafes and being able to walk everywhere!

Paris

Paris

Paris…there is just so much I could possibly say about this beautiful city. My mom and I decided we would spend one night in Paris while in Europe, so we did! It was my birthday last week and the only thing I really wanted to do was to go to Paris. We stayed at Le Burgandy Hotel, which is such a cute boutique hotel. I highly recommended staying here if you are looking for a small boutique hotel in the middle of Paris and especially in the middle of all the shops and good restaurants. It was simply perfect.

After having took the train and getting up early, we needed a little pick me up (some champagne to celebrate!) and a snack. We headed to a brasserie close to our hotel: Chez Flotte. We had such a great time, the atmosphere was absolutely delightful and so was the food. From there, we walked around a lot and had to do the Eiffel Tower stop even though we had seen it many many times.

During our stay, we ate at two other spectacular restaurants which I highly recommend if you ever go to Paris. They are both owned by the same owner and share similarities but each unique in their own way.

The first is Hotel des Costes which is in the hotel itself. We ate on the terrace which was centered around the hotel bar/restaurant. I suggest the tuna carpaccio as well as the seabass in a curry sauce. We enjoyed the carpaccio so much we ordered several more orders!

The second is La Societe and there we sat on the terrace in the main square of a nearby neighborhood to our hotel. We had the salmon carpaccio and the cod. To finish off, we had the apple tart which was so thin and light that you didn’t feel stuffed. It was so delightful!

maldives…

maldives…

The Maldives consists of 1192 coral islands grouped in a double chain of 26 atolls making this one of the world’s most dispersed countries. The atolls are composed of live coral reefs and sand bars, situated atop a submarine ridge. If you are looking for a honeymoon spot or just a place to get away the two of you, you may want to consider this beautiful island nation. The Maldives will allow for tranquility and relaxation if that is something you are looking for. Stay tuned for a more adventurous vacation spot.
